Year of Exposure Day 54: Psalm 141 offers a template for navigating 2025 (and beyond).

Year At the beginning of this year, the Lord gave us Psalm 141 as a template for 2025. Obviously, all scripture is always good (as discussed on Day 37). But, we also know that at times the Lord may direct us to particular passages of scripture that are speaking “in the moment” to our current need or request, and to even serve as a “heads up.”

Today we will bring together what we have discussed over Days 38-54 (Days 42, 48, 53, were review Days and Day 50 addressed Ash Wednesday), rehearsing what our examination of Psalm 141 rendered in terms of a strategy for navigating 2025, indeed, for all times of pressure and uncertainty.

In this psalm, David seems to be embroiled in a struggle (perhaps as he was fleeing from Saul or Absalom), presenting the temptation to turn the wrong way for help, as he is facing the ongoing pursuit by his enemies who would just as soon see him dead.

In our examination we saw the following:

> Verses 1-2: David cries out to the Lord, beseeching the Lord to find his prayer acceptable and help him. (Day 38 & Day 39)

> Verse 3: David asks the Lord to keep him from making things worse by speaking the wrong things. (Day 40)

> Verse 4: David asks the Lord to keep him from turning to evil people and partaking in what they have to offer. (Day 41 & Day 43)

> Verse 5: David asks the Lord to keep him from refusing good counsel, and to be receptive to correction. (Day 44 & Day 45)

> Verse 6-7: David is encouraged by thinking of the vindication that will come when those who have abused him get what’s coming to them. (Day 46 & Day 47)

> Verse 8: David declares that he is only looking to the Lord for refuge and asks the Lord not to forsake him. (Day 49)

> Verses 9-10: David asks the Lord to keep him out of the traps of the enemy and to let the enemy fall victim to their own schemes. (Day 51 & Day 52)

Child of God, whatever we are facing in 2025—or at any other time—God hears and helps us when we cry out to Him. Our part is to make sure that in the midst of any struggle, the enemy of our soul doesn’t use it to lead us into temptation, whether that be a temptation to fall into sin or to fall into despair.

We have included the Days on which the different parts of David’s prayer were covered so that you can catch up on whatever you may have missed.

Peace to you.

Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him!
