Here are our topics, along with our opening scriptures, for each of the last five days, as we continued our journey into the “Year of Exposure” by looking into ways to avoid some major pitfalls in terms of how we treat the word of God in our lives.
Day 31: Fearing what other people think will lead to failure.
“Do not be afraid of them [or their hostile faces], For I am with you [always] to protect you and deliver you,” says the Lord.”
Jeremiah 1:8 AMP
Day 32: Getting your eyes on what other people are doing, can get you shipwrecked.
“I never joined the people in their merry feasts. I sat alone because your hand was on me. I was filled with indignation at their sins. Why then does my suffering continue? Why is my wound so incurable? Your help seems as uncertain as a seasonal brook, like a spring that has gone dry.” This is how the Lord responds: “If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you! They will fight against you like an attacking army, but I will make you as secure as a fortified wall of bronze. They will not conquer you, for I am with you to protect and rescue you. I, the Lord, have spoken!”
Jeremiah 15:17-20 NLT
Day 33: We cannot escape the hand of the Potter.
“O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand. If I announce that a certain nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down, and destroyed, but then that nation renounces its evil ways, I will not destroy it as I had planned. And if I announce that I will plant and build up a certain nation or kingdom, but then that nation turns to evil and refuses to obey me, I will not bless it as I said I would.”
Jeremiah 18:6-10 NLT
Day 34: Silencing the prophet won’t stop the word from coming to pass.
“Then the people said, “Come on, let’s plot a way to stop Jeremiah. We have plenty of priests and wise men and prophets. We don’t need him to teach the word and give us advice and prophecies. Let’s spread rumors about him and ignore what he says.””
Jeremiah 18:18 NLT
Day 35: Expect resistance, or worse.
““Son of man, do not fear them or their words. Don’t be afraid even though their threats surround you like nettles and briers and stinging scorpions. Do not be dismayed by their dark scowls, even though they are rebels. You must give them my messages whether they listen or not. But they won’t listen, for they are completely rebellious!”
Ezekiel 2:6-7 NLT
Lord willing, next time we will continue our pursuit of understanding the “Year of Exposure.”
Peace to you.
Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him!
