“If the Lord delights in us, he will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land that flows with milk and honey. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not fear the people of the land, for they are bread for us. Their protection is removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them." Then all the congregation said to stone them with stones. But the glory of the Lord appeared at the tent of meeting to all the people of Israel.”
Numbers 14:8-10 ESV
Have you ever heard the saying, “Get in; get out; or get run over”? Well, let’s add one to that: “Go; stay; or get out of the way.”
You see, people who are not willing to follow the word of the Lord—or do what it takes to secure the promises of the Lord—often bad mouth and/or try to hinder those who are committed to believing God‘s word. They are not content to disagree and go their own way. The faithless, unbelieving, and/or uncommitted want to gather a crowd of sycophants who will bolster their position. Those who dare to continue serving God and believing what He has said, are slandered, maligned, even attacked!
“For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you; but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.”
1 Peter 4:3-5 ESV
In a prophetic word given to us several years ago the Lord instructed that a time was at hand when people who did not believe in the soon coming of Jesus Christ, would lash out with great animus on those who do believe in His soon coming.
Indeed, we have experienced reproach, ridicule, and rejection because we believe, teach, and act on Jesus’ soon coming for His Bride.
Our opening scripture provides an excellent example of people who were unwilling to believe and act on what God has said, attacking those who chose to stay faithful.
When Caleb and Joshua tried to encourage the people by reminding them that God had already given them the victory, the angry mob wanted to stone them, and would have, if God had not intervened.
Child of God, understand that you cannot base your hope in the word of the Lord on whether or not other people agree with you.
“By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.”
Hebrews 11:24-26 ESV
Remember, great reward awaits those who choose to believe and follow!
Peace to you.
Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him!
