“And every day Mordecai paced in front of the court of the women’s quarters, to learn of Esther’s welfare and what was happening to her.”
Esther 2:11 NKJV
I think we’ve all experienced the phenomenon of trying to read instructions that made absolutely no sense to us. And, even if we understand what is being described, when we go to implement the instructions, we find ourselves stymied. Well, that situation is certainly no problem if the one who originally wrote the instructions—the one who knows how it’s done—is right there with you, watching over the process.
Yesterday we discussed the fact that Esther trusted Mordecai and obeyed his leading. Today we see that Mordecai came daily to where Esther was staying, making sure that all was well with her.
Now, in the case of Esther and Mordecai, there was a limit to the oversight Mordecai could exercise over Esther, as she was now under the custody of someone else.
However, in our case, our Instructor and Guardian—the Holy Spirit of God—is not limited by space, time, or situation.
When the prophet Jeremiah was being called, the Lord presented some scenes before him through which He was giving him the prophetic word. This was the Lord’s response after Jeremiah describes one of these scenes back to Him:
“Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill it.””
Jeremiah 1:12 AMP
What God was saying to Jeremiah was that He was ready to set forth Jeremiah to speak the prophetic word and that He also was going to be with that word, watching over it as it is performed.
Jesus, when instructing His disciples that He would have to go away, assured them that He wasn’t putting them out to go it alone.
“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
John 14:18 NKJV
Indeed, the Lord not only came to His disciples by way of His Holy Spirit, He also makes His Holy Spirit available to live in us!
That being the case, as we are walking in obedience to the Lord, we can be sure that His Holy Spirit is with us, watching over His word, assuring that it will come to pass.
“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?””
Hebrews 13:5-6 NKJV
The writer of Hebrews here reminds us that we don’t need to begrudge anyone else of what they have or to be afraid of what might happen to us because our Provider, our Lord, our everything, is always with us.
The Last Days before the coming of Jesus Christ are full of intense pressure. But, we have no need to fear. As we are obedient to what God has said, He comes alongside us, making sure that we will be able to fulfill our part of His plan.
Peace to you.
Jesus is coming. Get ready for Hlim!
