“So Hathach gave Esther’s message to Mordecai. Mordecai sent this reply to Esther: “Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed. If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?””
Esther 4:12-14 NLT
Have you ever looked in awe of what other people have? what other people have attained? the incredible talent some people possess? and so on?
Well, I have a theory, an assumption really; but I believe it is based on what we see in the word of God. My assumption is this: people who have been given extraordinary access, or position, or wealth, and so on, have been given those things to fulfill some purpose in the plan of God. Now, of course, we know that many people do not use the great things they have for God‘s glory and purpose; but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t intended for that.
Think about it: why was Samson so strong? Solomon so wise? Abraham so rich? David such an amazing warrior? Joseph so connected? Deborah so revered? and so on? Well, as we see in the rest of the story concerning their lives, it was for God’s purposes. And that brings us to Esther being made queen.
In our opening passage we see that Mordecai—having received Esther‘s response—warns her not to shrink back from doing what she fears doing, as her positioning may have been just for this purpose.
When you hear this line of thinking, you may agree, but make the misassumption that you haven’t been given anything to be used for God‘s purposes. However, the fact is: whatever we have, whoever we have been created to be, is for God‘s purpose.
Indeed, we have only to submit our lives, with all that we are and have, to the Lord, to see Him intricately weave our lives into His astonishing Master Plan!
Peace to you.
Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him!
