Year of Realization - Day 28: Knowing must be followed with showing.

“So Hathach went out to Mordecai in the square in front of the palace gate. Mordecai told him the whole story, including the exact amount of money Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews. Mordecai gave Hathach a copy of the decree issued in Susa that called for the death of all Jews. He asked Hathach to show it to Esther and explain the situation to her. He also asked Hathach to direct her to go to the king to beg for mercy and plead for her people.”

‭‭Esther‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I’ve noticed that—in terms of media presentation—people who believe in the soon coming of Jesus Christ are often lumped in with so-called “doomsday cults.”

Now, those of us who don’t have an agenda that includes the discrediting of anyone who believes Jesus is coming soon, know the difference between a true doomsday cult and those who simply believe the word of God and can read the signs of the times.

To test my hypothesis that those of us who believe in the soon coming of Jesus Christ are being lumped in with doomsday cults, I looked up the definition of a doomsday cult on the web. Lo and behold, some version or another of the following is found over and over again:

“A doomsday cult is a religious cult whose members believe that the world is about to end.”

Now, whereas we know that the world is not going to end per se, we who believe in Christ’s soon coming know that the world, as we know it, will end.

Here’s a very streamlined version of what we believe:

An antichrist system will be manifested (I say “manifested” because it is already at work and many of the elements of it are already in place).

Somewhere within the time—or just prior to the time—that the person labeled as the Antichrist is revealed, the remnant in the Church who are looking for the coming of Jesus Christ will be taken (just as Elijah and Enoch were) from the Earth without dying. Christ will appear in the clouds and we will be translated to meet Him.

And, again, somewhere within the time of the antichrist system being revealed, all hell will break loose against Israel. This will be the result of a broken peace treaty or agreement.

Then, when there is no hope for Israel to be saved from complete destruction, they will call out to the Lord and He will come and put His feet on the Mount of Olives. He will then fight against the enemies of God, ultimately putting an end to all other rule.

Now, if you’ve never heard some version of what I have just shared with you about the coming of Jesus Christ, you have been failed by someone. So, if there are those of us who do believe in the soon coming of Jesus Christ, why are so many ignorant of the fact that He is coming?

Returning to my original point: many people fear being discredited or seen as being aluminum foil hat wearing, robe adorning, candle lighting, cave dwelling, hummers, who are storing food, having sex with their relatives, and looking for a “transport” to arrive.

Yes, I know what I just said sounds harsh, but believe me, that’s the way those of us who believe in the soon coming of Jesus Christ are either explicitly or implicitly being portrayed. And some people don’t want to be looked at in that way.

The fact remains, those of us who know what time it is, those of us who recognize the signs the time, must let people know why we believe what we believe and why we believe it.

In fact, the imperative to preach the coming of Jesus Christ is only second to that of the preaching of the Gospel.

Just as we should be committed to the salvation of souls in terms of their repenting and turning to the Lord, just so, we must also be committed to the salvation of souls from the wrath that is to come by informing them that they need to be looking for the soon coming of Jesus Christ.

In our opening scripture we see that Esther—having sent someone to see why Mordecai is mourning—is about to find out what is going on. You see, it wasn’t enough for Mordecai to know, he had to let others know. Then it will be their turn to do something; and we will talk more about that tomorrow.

Peace to you.

Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him.
