Year “Lord, I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭141‬:‭1‬ NKJV‬‬

As mentioned last time, at the beginning of this year the Lord gave us Psalm 141 as a template for 2025.

Lord willing, over the next several days, we will engage in a closer examination of Psalm 141 and what it might reveal to us about what is coming in the rest of this year, as well, how to deal with whatever we may be facing.

As we see in our opening scripture, David begins his prayer with crying out to the Lord. Indeed, many of the psalms have references to crying out to the Lord.

We have recently been considering the ministry of Jeremiah. One of the times he was imprisoned, the Lord made this offer to him:

“Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still shut up in the court of the prison, saying, “Thus says the Lord who made it, the Lord who formed it to establish it (the Lord is His name): ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭33‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jeremiah, being in prison, would have obviously been distressed. The Lord tells him that if he will cry out to Him, the Lord will give him important information to share with God‘s people.

Let’s look at this same scripture in another translation:

“‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.’”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭33‬:‭3‬ ‭AMP‬‬

When we are in some sort of distress, need, perplexity, etc., if we apply ourselves to truly seeking the Lord, pouring out ourselves before Him, He will show us what we could not have otherwise known.

The Lord offers this reassurance through the psalmist:

““Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.””

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Our lives, at best, are fraught with opportunities to despair amid occasions of uncertainty. And, we can be sure that we will have to navigate a bumpy road in coming days. As such, we may find ourselves faced with situations concerning which we have no idea what to think, much less know what to do.

Child of God, instead of becoming overwhelmed, we can overcome by crying out to the Lord. We can be sure that He will hear and answer those who truly belong to Him.

Peace to you.

Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him!
