Year of Exposure Day 15: Breaches in our protective hedge expose us to the enemy.

“What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, Did it bring forth wild grapes? And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭5‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As we continue our journey into the “Year of Exposure,” we turn to consider another meaning of exposure: being open to contact with something. For our purposes here, the “something” with which there is contact, is the enemy’s destructive power.

As our opening scripture illustrates, continued rebellion against God—in this case by His own special people—results in the lowering of His protective hedge.

Make no mistake, we should not suppose that we can flout God’s laws with impunity.

I truly believe that we are entering into a season of God judging evil by lowering His protective, His restraining, hedge around those who are walking in deliberate disobedience. Of course, as with all judgment, it will begin in His house. But, as we have discussed, it will not stop there.

The lowering of the hedge of God’s protection, leaves one open to destruction by the enemy who comes only to cause harm.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Now, some people may suggest that a loving God should not allow such a thing. To that, we offer this: Remember, our loving God has made a way of escape from something that is guaranteed to happen: the destruction of the wicked. As such, the wicked WILL receive repayment for their wickedness. And, if we align ourselves in any way with evil, bad consequences should be expected.

God has repeatedly warned that ongoing, deliberate sin, results in destruction.

“Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us. For we know the one who said, “I will take revenge. I will pay them back.” He also said, “The Lord will judge his own people.””

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭26‬-‭30‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Child of God, let us walk in obedience to the Lord, lest we render ourselves vulnerable to destruction.

The really good news is that if we remain within the protection of our Father, we will only be a spectator of destruction.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!” For He will save you from the trap of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions, And under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and a wall. ¶You will not be afraid of the terror of night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Nor of the destruction (sudden death) that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But danger will not come near you. You will only [be a spectator as you] look on with your eyes And witness the [divine] repayment of the wicked [as you watch safely from the shelter of the Most High].”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Peace to you.

Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him!
