“And the king loved Esther more than any of the other young women. He was so delighted with her that he set the royal crown on her head and declared her queen instead of Vashti.”
Esther 2:17 NLT
A few years ago the Lord gave me a message on the phenomenon known as a “quantum leap.” Now that terminology is regularly used to describe a rapid change of position, generally referencing a positive sudden move. However, the term has its origin in quantum mechanics, a branch of physics. (Don’t glaze over; you can understand this.)
The actual phenomenon that came to be known as a “quantum leap” is when an electron in one energy level in an atom jumps instantly into another energy level, emitting or absorbing energy as it does so. There are no observable steps in between the two levels of energy and the “leap” takes place instantaneously.
The gist of the message the Lord gave me concerning “The Quantum Leap,” basically had to do with the fact that with God, things, people, circumstances, etc., can instantly be changed from being one way to another. All it takes is for God to speak the word, and what we never could have made happen or predicted in the natural, is suddenly the case.
Because of the way the Lord works, we should never assume that where we are is where we’ll stay, or that where we are can prevent us from being where God’s plan needs us to be.
We see in the Book of Acts, the apostle Philip, after having ministered to and baptized the Ethiopian eunuch, was suddenly taken from where he was to another place some distance away:
“When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away. The eunuch never saw him again but went on his way rejoicing. Meanwhile, Philip found himself farther north at the town of Azotus. He preached the Good News there and in every town along the way until he came to Caesarea.”
Acts 8:39-40 NLT
There are even a few other examples of such “translations”—or quantum leaps—in the Bible. But, a sudden change in physical coordinates isn’t the only type of sudden positional and/or conditional change we see in the Bible. Today we consider one of those sudden changes in position.
In our opening scripture we see that Esther has gone from being an orphan and wayfaring stranger, to being queen over a great empire.
In the coming days we will see that it was in the plan of God for this sudden exaltation to happen to Esther. But, what you need to remember now is that where you are, is absolutely no indication of where you can or will be as you are faithful to following God‘s plan. Indeed, everything can change in a moment!
Peace to you.
Jesus is coming. Get ready for Him!
