The Spiritual Journey 2024 - Day 11: Beware of offers of “deeper truth.”

”“But I also have a message for the rest of you in Thyatira who have not followed this false teaching (‘deeper truths,’ as they call them—depths of Satan, actually). I will ask nothing more of you except that you hold tightly to what you have until I come.“

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It never ceases to amaze me how interested many people are in books, movies, any number of vehicles presenting magic, spells, demonic involvement, and so forth. In fact, concerts of some of our most popular teen “idols” (I guess that says it all), employ satanic images and depictions of satanic rituals as part of the “show.”

At the same time, many of the people who are intrigued by this whole Satanic allure, have no interest in the power of God, the gifts of the Spirit, or the moving of the Holy Spirit. As a matter of fact, many of these individuals make fun of those who operate in the gifts of the Spirit.

Sadly, this being intrigued with the knowledge and power Satan has to offer, began with a woman and a serpent in a garden.

I’m sure you are aware of the story of man’s Fall: After Eve had told the serpent that they could not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and if they did so, it would lead to death, the serpent offered a different take on why God did not want them to eat of that tree.

”Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.“

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There it is. And yes, the deception that there is some better or easier way to knowledge and power (outside of God), continues to corrupt and collect unstable souls.

Paul warned the church at Corinth that they must not be deceived as Eve was, and embrace a false Christ.

”But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!“

‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This talk of the search for “deeper knowledge” outside of the Holy Spirit of God, brings me to share with you concerning the last two entities who presented themselves during my spiritual journey. Actually, I would say that this was, in reality, one entity, who, when rejected in one form, presented later on in another form.

This last entity came first in the form of an old, sinewy, bent over man. He was wearing what could be best described as sort of a sultan hat (“genie” hat). As he was coming toward me, he was putting his fingers into his right eye socket, as though he were going to pull out his eye and give it to me. My immediate response was, “I don’t need or want your eye, I have the Holy Spirit of God.” And—as was the case with the other entities—he immediately disappeared.

Interestingly, toward the very end of the spiritual journey, this spirit appeared again in the form of what could best be described as a life-size paper doll of a young girl. I say a paper doll, because there was no depth to the image. It was holding what looked like an X-Acto knife with which it started cutting its eyes out. Again, I knew it was offering its eyes to me. I again rejected this offer and the entity disappeared.

Now, what was all that about with this entity offering me its eye(s)? You see, what was being offered was the same thing Eve was offered: knowledge apart from God.

In our opening scripture we see Jesus’ warning and instruction to the church at Thyatira. They had in their midst a person referenced as “Jezebel,” who was teaching them “deeper truths.” And, as these so-called deeper truths often lead, it was seducing them into sexual sin and idolatry.

Now, this demonic, deeper truths deception, will come to bear again when we get to the last of the dreaming visions in my spiritual journey. For now, let it suffice for me to warn you that any knowledge contradictory to the word of God, is demonic and offers its students nothing short of total bondage and ultimate destruction.

Remember, anything that is truly good, comes from “the Father of lights.” Reject all knowledge or power that finds its source in darkness!

”Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.“

James‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Peace to you.

Jesus is coming! Get ready for Him!
